Water sanitation is critical for an animal’s health. Water systems can become contaminated either from groundwater sources or from the environment in the barn. In poultry production, for example, an entire flock (seasonal crop) can be lost by mishandling the drinking water.
We meet the needs of poultry and livestock growers and producers by providing reliable, accurate and safe methods to weigh chemicals used to treat water; reduce bacteria and disease; and meet health regulations and standards.
Chemicals used during this process are stored in a 150 lb. cylinder or a ton cylinder as a liquefied gas, or in a tank, drum or IBC tote as a liquid. Chlorinated water is used to reduce bacteria, however, the dosing must be very precise. Monitoring the feed rates via weight is vital to maintaining the purity of the water. If a cylinder is not replaced or refilled before it is depleted, the proper amount of purifying chemicals will not be added to the water, posing serious health issues for the livestock.
